Hurricanes Remain Undefeated after Fending off Huskies

The Hurricanes take first place in the ACBA standings with two wins against the SMU Huskies and winning all four of their games of the weekend. Game 1 Recap, Provided by GameChanger: Holland College Hurricanes defeated SMU Huskies 11-1 on Sunday thanks in part to seven runs in the sixth inning. Caden Doyle drew a walk, scoring one run, Ethan Smith doubled, scoring three runs, Dylan Worth singled, scoring one run, Sam Worth hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.


Holland College Hurricanes were the first to get on the board in the first when Worth hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. Holland College Hurricanes added one run in the third after Worth grounded out.


Thomas MacEachern earned the win for Holland College Hurricanes. The right-handed pitcher gave up four hits and one run (zero earned) over six innings, striking out five and walking one. Lucas Taylor led things off on the bump for SMU Huskies. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and four runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking none.


Holland College Hurricanes tallied 10 hits in the game. Simon Dubois, Worth, and Duncan Picketts each collected two hits for Holland College Hurricanes. Worth, Worth, and Smith each drove in two runs for Holland College Hurricanes. Holland College Hurricanes turned one double play in the game.
