The ACBA is back in full swing, and first weekend was filled with lots of offensive action! All teams were able to kick into the start of their season, and the initial games between UNB and STFX will be rescheduled to due poor field conditions for Saturday's games.

HC Hurricanes @ Acadia Axemen (Game 1, 2-17)

Connor Henry drove in five runs on three hits to lead Acadia Axemen past Holland College Hurricanes 17-2 on Saturday at Memorial Park Kentville. Henry hit a grand slam to left field in the third inning, scoring four runs, and doubled in the first inning, scoring one.

Acadia Axemen scored 10 runs in the first inning on the way to victory. Jack Barry doubled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, an error scored one run, Ben Cairns singled, scoring one run, Henry doubled, scoring one run, Tyler Croteau doubled, scoring two runs, Heath Barry singled, scoring one run, and Burke Shulte-Bates singled, scoring two runs.

Acadia Axemen added one run in the second after Gabe Caldwell grounded out.

Acadia Axemen scored six runs on two hits in the bottom of the third inning. Henry hit a grand slam to left field, and an error scored two runs.

Noah Scrimgeour stepped on the mound first for Acadia Axemen. The starter gave up one hit and two runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out eight and walking five. Avery Deveau stepped on the hill first for Holland College Hurricanes. The pitcher gave up four hits and seven runs (four earned) over one-third of an inning, striking out none and walking one.

Acadia Axemen piled up 12 hits in the game. Croteau, Cairns, Barry, and Shulte-Bates each collected multiple hits for Acadia Axemen.

Wil White went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Holland College Hurricanes in hits.

Acadia Axemen outsted Holland College Hurricanes 6-3 on Saturday at Memorial Park Kentville.

A ground out by Seth Hansen put Holland College Hurricanes on the board in the top of the first.

Tyler Croteau walked, which helped Acadia Axemen tie the game at one in the bottom of the second. Acadia Axemen took the lead in the bottom of the third. Burke Shulte-Bates singled, scoring one run, to give Acadia Axemen the edge, 2-1.

Hansen homered to left field following a 6-pitch at-bat, which helped Holland College Hurricanes tie the game at two in the top of the fourth.

A home run to center field by Jack Barry gave Acadia Axemen the lead, 5-2, in the bottom of the fourth.

Ben Cairns opened the game for Acadia Axemen. The hurler surrendered six hits and three runs over six and one-third innings, striking out four and walking three. Matt Peacock led things off on the mound for Holland College Hurricanes. The starter allowed six hits and five runs over four innings, striking out three and walking five. Noah Scrimgeour appeared in relief for Acadia Axemen.

Acadia Axemen collected nine hits in the game. Barry provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Acadia Axemen with three runs batted in. The left-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Barry, Gabe Caldwell, and Shulte-Bates each collected two hits for Acadia Axemen. Acadia Axemen were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Barry made the most plays with 11.

Hansen drove the middle of the lineup, leading Holland College Hurricanes with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Wil White set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Holland College Hurricanes with two hits in four at bats. Holland College Hurricanes were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Cayle Coffin had the most chances in the field with seven.

Carson Gray drove in five runs on three hits to lead Dalhousie Tigers past UPEI Panthers 21-14 on Saturday at MacNeill Field. Gray singled in the second scoring two, doubled in the fifth scoring two, and singled in the seventh scoring one.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as Dalhousie Tigers collected 21 hits and UPEI Panthers 18 in the high-scoring affair.

A double by Duncan Picketts put UPEI Panthers on the board in the bottom of the first.

Dalhousie Tigers captured the lead, 4-1, in the top of the second when an error scored one run, Jordan Rovet singled, scoring one run, and Gray singled, scoring two runs.

UPEI Panthers took the lead in the bottom of the third. Calen Ellsworth singled, scoring two runs, to give UPEI Panthers the lead, 5-4.

Jack Randall grounded out, which helped Dalhousie Tigers tie the game at five in the top of the fourth.

A single by Graysen LaPorte gave UPEI Panthers the lead, 7-5, in the bottom of the fourth.

Gray doubled to center field on a full count, which helped Dalhousie Tigers tie the game at seven in the top of the fifth.

UPEI Panthers jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning after Ellsworth hit a sacrifice fly, and Dalhousie Tigers committed an error, each scoring one run.

In the top of the seventh inning, Dalhousie Tigers went back into the lead after Gray singled down the right field line, Nic Campeau doubled down the left field line, Simon Prescott was struck by a pitch, Alex Mercer singled down the left field line, Yasu Hojo singled to right field, and Rovet hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

LaPorte singled down the left field line, which helped UPEI Panthers tie the game at 13 in the bottom of the seventh.

Dalhousie Tigers flipped the game on its head in the top of the eighth, scoring eight runs on seven hits to take the lead, 21-13. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Nikhil Hawley that drove in two.

Patrick Thomas stepped on the hill first for Dalhousie Tigers. The pitcher surrendered five hits and five runs (four earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking four. Brandon Murray opened the game for UPEI Panthers. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and four runs (zero earned) over two innings, striking out none and walking one. Zach Macfarlane, AJ Tait, and Angus Rumboldt each appeared in relief for Dalhousie Tigers.

Dalhousie Tigers accumulated 21 hits in the game. Gray, Campeau, and Hojo each collected three hits for Dalhousie Tigers. Rovet, Jack Karosas, Mercer, Hawley, and Prescott each collected multiple hits for Dalhousie Tigers. Dalhousie Tigers had a strong eye at the plate, tallying nine walks for the game. Gray and Prescott led the team with two free passes each. Dalhousie Tigers stole three bases in the game.

UPEI Panthers piled up 18 hits in the game. Ellsworth led UPEI Panthers with four runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The catcher went 1-for-2 on the day. LaPorte, Picketts, and Mitchell Burns each collected three hits for UPEI Panthers. Cal King, Simon Dubois, and Jack MacKenzie each collected multiple hits for UPEI Panthers. Dubois stole three bases. UPEI Panthers ran wild on the base paths, tallying six stolen bases for the game.

Gabe Wolfe shut down Dalhousie Tigers, throwing a complete game shutout and leading UPEI Panthers to a 5-0 victory on Saturday at MacNeill Field.

UPEI Panthers got on the board in the second inning after Graysen LaPorte doubled, scoring one run.

UPEI Panthers added two runs in the third. LaPorte singled down the left field line, making the score 3-0.

Van Manoukian stepped on the bump first for Dalhousie Tigers. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and three runs over three innings, striking out two and walking none.

LaPorte went 2-for-2 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. UPEI Panthers turned one double play in the game.

Dalhousie Tigers's Simon Prescott, the number eight hitter, led Dalhousie Tigers with two hits in three at bats. Dalhousie Tigers were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Prescott had the most chances in the field with six.

UNB Reds @ UPEI Panthers (Game 1, 6-3)

UNB Reds topped UPEI Panthers 6-3 on Sunday at MacNeill Field.

A fly out by Elliot Proud put UPEI Panthers on the board in the bottom of the first.

Ryan Johnson singled down the left field line, which helped UNB Reds tie the game at one in the top of the second.

A single by Matt Beach gave UNB Reds the lead, 2-1, in the top of the third.

Liam Roche stepped on the bump first for UNB Reds. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and three runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking five. Chase Desroches opened the game for UPEI Panthers. The starter allowed seven hits and four runs over five and one-third innings, striking out five and walking two. Will Nealis pitched one and one-third innings of shutout ball for UNB Reds in relief. The righty gave up one hit, striking out three and walking one.

UNB Reds accumulated nine hits in the game. Johnson, UNB Reds's number eight hitter, led the team with three hits in four at-bats. Beach and Morgan Stiles each collected multiple hits for UNB Reds. Beach stole two bases. UNB Reds ran wild on the base paths, accumulating three stolen bases for the game. UNB Reds didn't commit a single error in the field. Ian Humphrey had the most chances in the field with eight.

Morgan Stiles started on the hill for UNB Reds. The hurler surrendered four hits and one run over four innings, striking out one and walking two. Jack MacKenzie started on the bump for UPEI Panthers. The starting pitcher allowed nine hits and three runs over four innings, striking out three and walking one. Eli Goguen appeared in relief for UNB Reds.

UNB Reds accumulated 14 hits in the game. Cam Weatherbee went 3-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Ryan Johnson, Charlie Roche, Cael Copeland, and Quinn Jones each collected multiple hits for UNB Reds. UNB Reds turned one double play in the game.

MacKenzie DesRoches and Calen Ellsworth were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for UPEI Panthers. Graysen LaPorte led UPEI Panthers with two hits in four at bats.

Dalhousie Tigers defeated Holland College Hurricanes 4-3 on Sunday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at three in the top of the seventh when Carson Gray singled, scoring one run.

Dalhousie Tigers got on the board in the top of the fourth inning after Jack Randall walked, and Zach Macfarlane grounded into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run.

Holland College Hurricanes took the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the fourth thanks to singles by Matt Peacock, and Cohen Woods.

Dalhousie Tigers jumped back into the lead in the top of the seventh inning after Isaac Murray hit a sacrifice fly, and Gray singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.

Jordan Rovet stepped on the hill first for Dalhousie Tigers. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and three runs (one earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out five and walking two. Seth Hansen stepped on the hill first for Holland College Hurricanes. The hurler allowed two hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking four. Murray and Nico Wilson each threw scoreless innings for Dalhousie Tigers in relief.

Gray led Dalhousie Tigers with two hits in four at bats.

Woods, the number nine hitter for Holland College Hurricanes, led the way with two runs batted in. The second baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Woods, Hansen, Seth Bulger, Peacock, and Nolan Hill each collected one hit for Holland College Hurricanes.

Dalhousie Tigers took down Holland College Hurricanes 7-3 on Sunday at Memorial Field Charlottetown.

Dalhousie Tigers were the first to get on the board in the first when Yasu Hojo singled, scoring two runs.

Dalhousie Tigers added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Carson Gray singled down the right field line, Isaac Murray doubled down the right field line, and Hojo walked, each scoring one run.


Erik Messer started on the hill for Dalhousie Tigers. The righty allowed three hits and one run over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking four. Jack Pepeljugovski started on the hill for Holland College Hurricanes. The starter surrendered six hits and six runs over three and one-third innings, striking out one and walking six. Cameron Peters, Angus Rumboldt, and Ryan MacDonald each threw scoreless innings for Dalhousie Tigers in relief.

Dalhousie Tigers amassed nine hits in the game. Nic Campeau and Murray each collected two hits for Dalhousie Tigers. Hojo went 1-for-1 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Jack Karosas led Dalhousie Tigers with four walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Campeau stole two bases. Dalhousie Tigers were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Murray made the most plays with seven.

Brock Kirkpatrick, the number nine hitter for Holland College Hurricanes, led the way with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Cayle Coffin and Drew Watts each collected two hits for Holland College Hurricanes. Holland College Hurricanes had patience at the plate, collecting nine walks for the game. Cohen Woods and Seth Hansen led the team with two free passes each. Holland College Hurricanes were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Jake MacEwen made the most plays with four.

Brady Blacquier collected three hits in three at bats, as STFX Xmen defeated Acadia Axemen 12-3 on Sunday at Memorial Park. Blacquier doubled in the fourth inning, singled in the fifth inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

Acadia Axemen were the first to get on the board in the first when a steal of home scored one run.

In the top of the fourth inning, STFX Xmen went back into the lead after Acadia Axemen committed an error, and Keaton Gammon hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

STFX Xmen scored six runs on four hits in the top of the sixth inning. Bronson Lightfoot singled, scoring one run, Rowan Aucoin singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Blacquier singled, scoring one run, Leif Dubreuil induced Wes Bean to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, and an error scored one run.

Aiden Myette stepped on the bump first for STFX Xmen. The starter surrendered five hits and three runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out four and walking one. Patrick Dobbin stepped on the hill first for Acadia Axemen. The hurler surrendered four hits and four runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Rory Galloway pitched one inning of shutout ball for STFX Xmen in relief. The hurler allowed zero hits, striking out two and walking none.

STFX Xmen accumulated nine hits in the game. Bean drove the middle of the lineup, leading STFX Xmen with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-5 on the day.

Ben Cairns led Acadia Axemen with one run batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Burke Shulte-Bates led Acadia Axemen with two hits in three at bats. Acadia Axemen turned one double play in the game.

It came down to the wire on Sunday at Memorial Park, as Acadia Axemen grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 9-8, over STFX Xmen. The game was tied at eight in the bottom of the eighth when an error scored one run.

Bats blistered as Acadia Axemen collected 12 hits and STFX Xmen tallied seven in the high-scoring game.

STFX Xmen got on the board in the top of the first inning after Wes Bean grounded into a fielder's choice, Ryder Penny stole home, and Robert Hollis flew out, each scoring one run.

Acadia Axemen flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring five runs on five hits to take the lead, 5-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by Brady Cox that drove in two.

STFX Xmen tied the game in the top of the sixth thanks to a single by Penny, and a sacrifice fly by Bronson Lightfoot.

An error gave STFX Xmen the lead, 8-7, in the top of the eighth.

Acadia Axemen took the lead in the bottom of the eighth inning after Jack Barry doubled down the left field line, and STFX Xmen committed an error, each scoring one run.

Heath Barry pitched four and one-third innings in relief for Acadia Axemen. The pitcher allowed six hits and four runs (three earned) while, striking out four and walking one. Eamon MacKenzie started the game for Acadia Axemen. The righty gave up zero hits and three runs (one earned) over one inning, striking out one and walking one. Lochlan Kearns began the game for STFX Xmen. The starting pitcher allowed six hits and five runs (one earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out none and walking none.

Acadia Axemen tallied 12 hits in the game. Barry went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Acadia Axemen in hits. Chris McCarthy, Cox, and Barry each drove in two runs for Acadia Axemen.

Bean drove the middle of the lineup, leading STFX Xmen with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. Number nine hitter, Aiden Myette, showed the depth of STFX Xmen's lineup, by leading them with two hits in four at bats. Bean and Cole Jones each stole multiple bases for STFX Xmen.
