Week 3 Review
Mother Nature had her way with week 3 with a number of league matches being postponed due to weather. The UPEI Panthers remained on the prowl and were able to leapfrog their way near the top of the leaderboard with a clean 4-0 record over the weekend.

Acadia Axemen @ STFX X-Men (Game 1, 12-6)
Jack Barry hit two home runs and drove in four as Acadia Axemen defeated STFX Xmen 12-6 on Saturday at Credit Union Field Antigonish. Barry homered in the fourth and seventh innings.
Acadia Axemen got on the board in the first inning after Connor Henry drew a walk, scoring one run.
Acadia Axemen added one run in the second. Ben Cairns singled down the right field line, making the score 2-0.
Acadia Axemen added one run in the third. Brady Penney singled down the right field line, making the score 3-0.
Barry homered to right field, scoring two runs in the top of the fourth for the Acadia Axemen.

It came down to the wire on Saturday at Credit Union Field, as STFX Xmen grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 8-7, over Acadia Axemen. The game was tied at seven in the bottom of the eighth when Bronson Lightfoot singled, scoring one run.
Both offenses were strong at the plate as STFX Xmen collected six hits and Acadia Axemen 13 in the high-scoring affair.
Acadia Axemen got on the board in the top of the first inning after Heath Barry hit a solo home run to center field, Brady Cox singled, scoring one run, and Connor Henry singled, scoring two runs.
STFX Xmen captured the lead, 6-4, in the bottom of the second when an error scored two runs, and Robert Hollis singled, scoring one run.
Henry singled down the left field line on a full count, which helped Acadia Axemen tie the game at seven in the top of the seventh.

Jack MacKenzie threw a shutout to lead UPEI Panthers past Holland College Hurricanes 4-0 on Saturday at MacNeill Field.

UPEI Panthers added one run in the third after Cal King flew out.
Matt Peacock took the loss for Holland College Hurricanes. The pitcher went six innings, allowing four runs (zero earned) on five hits, striking out six and walking eight.
Kayden Kelly went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Simon Dubois paced UPEI Panthers with four walks. The bottom of the lineup helped UPEI Panthers capture a 9-3 victory over Holland College Hurricanes on Saturday at MacNeill Field. Griffin Ryan, Calen Ellsworth, and Mitchell Burns combined for four of the team's seven hits in the victory. They scored five runs and drove in two.
Ellsworth collected three hits in three at bats in the win. Ellsworth singled in the third inning, singled in the sixth inning, and singled in the fifth inning.
Holland College Hurricanes got on the board in the top of the second inning after UPEI Panthers committed an error, and Brock Kirkpatrick grounded out, each scoring one run.

UPEI Panthers added six more runs in the top of the third inning on six hits. Duncan Picketts hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, McKenna singled, scoring one run, Sam Worth homered to left field, scoring three runs, and Will Morrison singled, scoring one run.
Tanner MacLean earned the win for UPEI Panthers. The pitcher gave up two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out six and walking none. Keaton Gammon took the loss for STFX Xmen. The hurler went three innings, giving up eight runs (six earned) on seven hits, striking out one and walking none.
